It’s about time I finally post about Toronto Fashion Week. Two to three hours prior to going, I had decided to attend the event. Only for Day 4 and 5. Mentally thinking— TFW usually isn’t on my mind because of work and I thought it wasn’t possible to attend the shows in time. That’s when I learnt how to dress up for Fashion Week within 5 minutes.

Some people take weeks in advance to plan their outfits. Whether it’s cross-ordinating with their BF or boo. For me, I dug for the one suit I got in my closet to reduce time thinking about which top to go with what bottoms, then slipped on the funkiest and fun kicks I own to drive a bit of interest to my look. A suit really makes a nice quick fix for any big occasion. The minute you realize you only have 15 minutes including Ubering time during rush hour to David Pecaut Square before the first show you’re seeing— time is definitely of the essence. If you thought rush hour after work was bad… think about that traffic with the arrival of attendees of fashion week. To my point about dressing up in 5 minutes, it totally makes you feel like you’ve conquered the world in 5.

Here are some of my favourite snaps from Day 4 of my TFW journey…

That cropped black denim jacket as a top at the end though…

Stacey McKenzie’s gorgeous purple coat. I don’t think I’ve ever desired a fur coat until now.

Today marks a new day and a new chapter in my life. It might not seem like a huge deal but it’s my first day at a new role that’s finally full time instead of the usual contract or freelance work. I’m less of a headless chicken running around and look at myself more of a growing little lady. (The heels help a lot with this perception) I see my life having a little bit more structure in my lifestyle now, at the same time proposing challenges for me to discipline myself to make time for blogging (like early this morning).

To end this quick morning write up, I’m going to leave a quote below which I saw on my Instagram while commuting to work. I’m usually not for one for cheesy, lame quotes. (That’s probably a big lie but it’s okay) I’m painting a realistic story of my life, eh?

Anyways, It’s 8:45AM. Time to go go go! x

Where there are days where I am feel like dressing up in all white or others where I’m head to toe in monochromatic tones.. there are also those spurts of time where I can’t help myself but wear bold colours. Aside from my soft palette and neutral wardrobe, I have the tendency to purchase bright-coloured, eccentric pieces and am only able to wear them a few times since it seems to catch everyones eyes. But these are the pieces that make your wardrobe unique!

I decided to pair my green Banana Republic Sloan-fit ankle pants in a bright green with these super fun watermelon heels by Sophia Webster. One of two of my favourite shoe designers, the other one being Charlotte Olympia! Sophia Webster has won my heart with her designs a while back with the release of her Rikos and Milas heels before she did a collaboration with J. Crew. Next on the list are the Coco Flamingo Pumps. Sooo wedding appropriate right? Kept it casual with a knit crop top and chicken cutlets for the backless design. And then we’re off to the races! I mean…. for pink lemonade and Matcha green tea ice cream!

Hello new folks and fellow readers! Here I am in the pixel and light, in a much more basic look. Aside from wearing your standard dress and skirts for the summer. I decide to get in tuned with my minimal slash casual side and toss on the most common shades– being black and white and spruce it up with my mint Bonitas by Sophia Webster. Which by the way, I’ve been dying to wear since I scored them for nearly nothing from the Net-a-Porter sale from last winter. (Pssssst… they’re having another huge sale right now too.) And if you know me well, you know I don’t put my heels down just for any pair of flat shoes.. And who could ever turn away from Sophia Webster? I remember doing one of those ground-shaking squeals of happiness that day I saw the Net-a-Porter black box at my doorstep. That day marked a huge moment for me– becoming a proud owner of Sophia Webster’s shoes. Maybe I’m just a wee bit biased since I’m secretly a huge fan girl of her work. No lie. I still dream of the day where I’ll own my own pair of Mila and Riko heels..

Recently, I’ve been going on this streak wearing all black for only God knows why.. on the hottest days in the city. I’m thinking it’s a good idea since I’ve been running around everywhere and wearing all black is easy. It looks put together and it gives me less stress about staying clean. Here, I switched it up with this beautiful shirt I received from Vivian Chan, an LA-based fashion designer known for captivating feminine nature and beauty in her pieces. Can I also say how great the sheer panels in the back are? Tiny details actually make my heart just go over the moon. Just like those fringe details on those Bonita shoes! As much as I like to think that my outfit was a pretty cool ensemble, the Chriselle top motivates me to find a white, full midi skirt to go with this shirt..or a white, silk accordion midi skirt. How pretty would that combination be? Honestly, these photos don’t do justice for this shirt…so I’m going to re-wear this top again soon!

Until next time kiddies! x
